Use Halixol is used for respiratory diseases accompanied by viscous sputum and difficulty in its excretion. Such diseases include acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, and COPD. How to take Halixol tablets should be taken orally after meals, with plenty of fluids. Abundant fluid intake helps to thin sputum during ambroxol treatment. - Adults and children over 12 years of age: For the first 2-3 days of treatment, the usual daily dose is 1 tablet 3 times a day. In subsequent days, the dose is reduced to 1 tablet twice a day or 1/2 tablet 3 times a day. In severe cases, the dose is not reduced throughout the entire course of treatment. - Children aged 5-12 years: It is recommended to take 1/2 tablet 2-3 times a day. - Without a doctor's recommendation, Halixol tablets should not be taken for more than 4-5 days. - Patients with kidney diseases should consult a doctor before starting the drug, as reduced doses may be required. Contraindications Halixol is contraindicated in the following cases: - Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or bromhexine. - First trimester of pregnancy. - Lactation period (breastfeeding). - Ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. - Simultaneous use with antitussive drugs (e.g., codeine) is not recommended, as this may hinder the excretion of sputum thinned by ambroxol. Use with caution in severe renal insufficiency. Use with caution in cases of impaired bronchial motor function or abundant production of low-viscosity sputum due to the risk of stagnation of bronchial secretions. Storage Store at a temperature not exceeding 30degreeC, in a place protected from light. The drug should be stored out of reach of children.
