Intravenous or intramuscular administration of the drug is indicated in cases where tenoxicam cannot be used in tablet form. How to take For intramuscular and intravenous administration, Tenikam is used for short-term (1-2 days) treatment at a dose of 20 mg once a day. If further therapy is required, it is recommended to switch to oral dosage forms of tenoxicam. Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to tenoxicam or excipients. - History of hypersensitivity symptoms (asthma, rhinitis, angioedema, urticaria) with other NSAIDs (ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid) due to cross-sensitivity. - Recurrent peptic ulcer disease / GI bleeding in active form or history (2+ episodes), ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, severe gastritis, GI bleeding or perforation related to prior NSAID use. - Severe cardiac, hepatic, renal insufficiency. - History of cerebrovascular bleeding or other bleeding disorders. - Breastfeeding period. - Last trimester of pregnancy. - Children under 18 years.
