Use: Postinor is indicated for emergency (postcoital) contraception in women aged 16 years and older. It should be taken within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or in cases of contraceptive method failure. How to take: - The drug is taken orally. - For a more reliable contraceptive effect, 2 Postinor tablets should be taken as soon as possible, preferably within the first 12 hours, but no later than 72 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse. - If vomiting occurs within 3 hours after taking the tablets, another 2 Postinor tablets should be taken. - The drug can be used at any time during the menstrual cycle. - In case of an irregular menstrual cycle, pregnancy must be ruled out beforehand. - After taking Postinor and until the next menstruation, non-hormonal methods of contraception should be used (e.g., condom, spermicide + cervical cap, diaphragm, or contraceptive sponge). - Repeated use of the drug within one menstrual cycle is not recommended due to an increased risk of acyclic bleeding/spotting. Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to levonorgestrel or to any of the excipients of the drug. - Severe liver failure. - Pregnancy, including suspected pregnancy. - Age under 16 years (due to limited data on the safety and efficacy of levonorgestrel in this age group). - Breastfeeding (after taking the drug, breastfeeding should be interrupted for at least 8 hours). - Galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome (the drug contains lactose monohydrate). - Phenylketonuria.
