Active substances

Use Pancef is a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic of the III generation for oral administration with a broad spectrum of action. The active ingredient is Cefixime (as Cefixime trihydrate) in a dosage of 400 mg. The drug acts bactericidally by inhibiting the synthesis of the pathogen's cell membrane. Cefixime is resistant to the action of Betta-lactamases produced by most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Pancef is used for infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to Cefixime. These include: - Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis). - Otitis media. - Lower respiratory tract infections (acute and chronic bronchitis). - Urinary tract infections (cystitis, cystourethritis, uncomplicated pyelonephritis, urethritis). - Uncomplicated gonorrhea (urethral and cervical). The use of Cefixime during pregnancy and lactation is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. If necessary, discontinue breastfeeding during lactation. - How to take For adults and children over 12 years of age with a body weight of more than 50 kg, the recommended daily dose is 400 mg (once daily or 200 mg twice daily). For uncomplicated gonorrhea - 400 mg once. The average duration of treatment is 7-10 days. For infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, the course of treatment should be at least 10 days. - Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to Cefixime, cephalosporins, or any of the excipients. - Severe immediate hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., anaphylactic reaction) to other beta-lactam antibiotics and penicillins in history. - Renal impairment with creatinine clearance less than 60 ml/min. - Children under 12 years of age.
