Use Cefichu is indicated for infectious and inflammatory processes caused by microorganisms sensitive to cefixime. These conditions include: - Otorhinolaryngological infections: otitis media, pharyngitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis. - Lower respiratory tract infections: empyema, bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess. - Genitourinary system infections: urethritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis. - Skin and soft tissue infections: pyoderma, abscess, furunculosis, phlegmon. - Bone and joint infections: osteomyelitis, arthritis. How to take Cefichu is taken orally. Tablets should be chewed before swallowing. Food intake does not affect the absorption of the drug. Dosage and duration of therapy are determined individually depending on the severity of the disease and the therapeutic effect. - For adults and children weighing more than 50 kg or over 12 years of age: the daily dose is 400 mg, taken once or divided into several doses. - For children weighing from 25 to 50 kg: the drug is prescribed at a dose of 200 mg per day once. - For uncomplicated gonorrhea in adults: a single dose of 400 mg is recommended. - In case of impaired renal function: the dose is adjusted depending on creatinine clearance. If creatinine clearance is 21-60 ml/min or in patients on hemodialysis, the daily dose is reduced by 25%. Contraindications Cefichu is contraindicated in the following cases: - Hypersensitivity to cefixime or any of the auxiliary components of the drug. - History of allergic reactions to penicillins, carbapenems, or other cephalosporins. - Porphyria. The drug is prescribed with caution: - In case of renal and/or hepatic insufficiency. - In case of enteritis, colitis, nonspecific ulcerative colitis associated with the use of antibacterial agents.
