Use Azibiot is used for infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to azithromycin. These include infections of the ENT organs (bacterial pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media), respiratory tract infections (bacterial bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections (migratory erythema - the initial stage of Lyme disease, erysipelas, impetigo, secondary pyodermas, treatment of mild forms of acne vulgaris). The drug is also used for sexually transmitted infections: uncomplicated and complicated urethritis/cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. How to take Azibiot should be taken one hour before or two hours after meals, as simultaneous food intake interferes with azithromycin absorption. The drug is taken once a day, tablets are swallowed whole without chewing. For adults, including elderly patients, and children weighing over 45 kg: - For infections of ENT organs, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues (except migratory erythema): 500 mg (1 tablet) for 3 days. - For migratory erythema: once a day. Contraindications The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance, to any other component of the drug, or to other macrolide antibiotics. Due to the theoretical possibility of ergotism, azithromycin should not be administered concomitantly with ergot derivatives.
