Use The drug Liprimar is used for primary hypercholesterolemia and combined (mixed) hyperlipidemia. It is also used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in adult patients with a high risk of developing primary cardiovascular events, as an addition to the correction of other risk factors. Secondary prevention of cardiovascular complications in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) is also an indication for Liprimar to reduce mortality, myocardial infarctions, strokes, repeated hospitalizations for angina pectoris, and the need for revascularization. How to take For primary hypercholesterolemia and combined (mixed) hyperlipidemia, the recommended dose of Liprimar is 10 mg once daily for most patients. The therapeutic effect appears within 2 weeks and usually reaches its maximum in 4 weeks; the effect is maintained with long-term treatment. For homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, the drug is prescribed in most cases at a dose of 80 mg once daily. For heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, the initial dose is 10 mg/day. Contraindications Liprimar is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. It also should not be used in active liver disease or an increase in plasma liver transaminase activity of unclear genesis more than 3 times the upper limit of normal. The drug is contraindicated in persons under 18 years of age due to insufficient clinical data on efficacy and safety in this age group. Liprimar is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
