Use Euphyllin is used for broncho-obstructive syndrome observed in bronchial asthma, bronchitis, and pulmonary emphysema (mainly for relieving attacks). It is also used for hypertension in the ''lesser'' circulatory circle. The drug is indicated for ischemic-type cerebral circulatory disorders (as part of combined therapy to reduce intracranial pressure) and for left ventricular failure with bronchospasm and Cheyne-Stokes respiration (as part of complex therapy). Contraindications Euphyllin is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to the drug (including to other xanthine derivatives such as caffeine, pentoxifylline, theobromine). Contraindications also include severe arterial hypotension or hypertension, paroxysmal tachycardia, extrasystole, myocardial infarction with cardiac rhythm disorders, epilepsy, increased convulsive readiness, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, thyrotoxicosis, pulmonary edema, severe coronary insufficiency, hepatic and/or renal insufficiency, hemorrhagic stroke, retinal hemorrhage, and recent bleeding in the anamnesis. Additionally, contraindications include tachyarrhythmias, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase, hyperacid gastritis, concomitant use with ephedrine in children, and childhood (under 3 years old; for prolonged oral forms - under 12 years old).
