DescriptionMetformin-Denk 1000 mg is an oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the biguanide class. It lowers blood glucose levels by suppressing hepatic glucose production, delaying intestinal glucose absorption, and improving peripheral insulin sensitivity. It does not cause hypoglycemia. Dosage and Administration How to take: Tablets should be taken during or immediately after a meal with a glass of water. This helps minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Dosage: Must be determined individually by a doctor. Treatment usually starts with a lower dose (500 mg or 850 mg) and is gradually increased to 1000 mg 1–2 times daily based on blood glucose measurements. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew or crush them. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to metformin or any ingredients of the drug. Hepatic insufficiency. Diabetes-related ketoacidosis or diabetic precoma. Acute conditions that may alter renal function (dehydration, severe infection, shock). Pregnancy and lactation period.
