Folacin tablets 5mg №30

Use Folacin is used for the treatment and prevention of folic acid deficiency caused by unbalanced or inadequate nutrition. It is also used to treat and prevent various types of anemias associated with folic acid deficiency, such as macrocytic hyperchromic anemia, anemia and leukopenia caused by medications and ionizing radiation, megaloblastic anemia, post-resection anemia, sideroblastic anemia in the elderly, anemias associated with small intestinal diseases, sprue, and malabsorption syndrome. The drug is indicated for the treatment and prevention of anemias during pregnancy and lactation, as well as for the prevention of neural tube defects in the fetus during pregnancy. In addition, Folacin is used during prolonged treatment with folic acid antagonists (e.g., methotrexate, sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim combination) and anticonvulsants (phenytoin, primidone, phenobarbital). How to take Folacin is taken orally. - For the treatment of megaloblastic anemia caused by folic acid deficiency: 5 mg per day for 4 months. - For the prevention of megaloblastic anemia: 2.5 mg per day. - For the prevention and treatment of macrocytic anemia in malabsorption, inflammatory bowel diseases, and unbalanced or inadequate nutrition: 15 mg per day. - For patients with sprue: 5-15 mg per day. - For the prevention of neural tube defects in the fetus: 2.5 mg per day for 4 weeks before planned pregnancy and continue taking throughout the I trimester of pregnancy. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pernicious anemia, malignant neoplasms, cobalamin deficiency. Also contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.
