Monural (Monural) granules for oral solution, 3 g, are a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent, a derivative of phosphonic acid, intended for the treatment of urinary tract infections. The active substance of the preparation is fosfomycin (in the form of fosfomycin trometamol); one sachet contains 3 g of fosfomycin. The mechanism of action of Monural is associated with the suppression of the first stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. The drug is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching maximum plasma concentration within 2-2.5 hours. A high concentration of fosfomycin is maintained in the urine for 24-48 hours, allowing for a single-dose treatment course. Use Indications for use include: - acute bacterial cystitis - bacterial nonspecific urethritis - postoperative urinary tract infections - prevention of infections during surgical intervention on the urinary tract and transurethral diagnostic procedures How to take The granules are white or almost white with a citrus scent. Before use, dissolve the contents of the sachet in 1/4 or 1/3 glass of water. The drug is taken once a day on an empty stomach, 2 hours before or after a meal (preferably before bedtime), after emptying the bladder.
