Use: Duphalac syrup is used in adults and children from 0 to 18 years of age to regulate the physiological rhythm of bowel emptying in constipation. It is also used to soften stools for medical purposes, for example, in hemorrhoids or after operations on the large intestine and in the anal area. In adults, the drug is indicated for the treatment and prevention of hepatic coma or precoma in hepatic encephalopathy. How to take: The drug is intended for oral administration. The daily dose of lactulose can be taken once or divided into two doses, using a measuring cup. The initial dose can be adjusted to a maintenance dose depending on the reaction to the drug. The therapeutic effect may appear 2-3 days after the start of administration. Lactulose solution can be taken both diluted and undiluted. It is necessary to swallow the single dose immediately, without holding it in the mouth. All dosages are selected individually. When prescribing a single daily dose, it should be taken at the same time, for example, during breakfast. During laxative therapy, it is recommended to drink a sufficient amount of fluid (1.5-2 liters, which is equal to 6-8 glasses) per day. Contraindications: Duphalac syrup should not be prescribed to patients with rare congenital disorders such as galactose or fructose intolerance, lactase lapp deficiency (lactase deficiency in some northern peoples), or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
