Eye and ear drops 0.3% are a clear, colorless or slightly yellowish solution. 1 ml of the drug contains 3 mg of ciprofloxacin (as ciprofloxacin hydrochloride monohydrate). Excipients include sodium acetate trihydrate, mannitol, disodium edetate dihydrate, benzalkonium chloride, glacial acetic acid, and purified water. The drug is supplied in polymer dropper bottles of 5 ml, packed in cardboard boxes. Ciprofloxacin is an antimicrobial drug from the quinolone class. Its bactericidal action is due to the inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase, which disrupts DNA synthesis. Ciprofloxacin has high in vitro activity against most gram-negative microorganisms, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and is also effective against aerobic gram-positive microorganisms, such as staphylococci and streptococci. Use: In ophthalmology: treatment of corneal ulcers and infections of the anterior segment of the eyeball and its adnexa caused by ciprofloxacin-sensitive bacteria. In otorhinolaryngology: external otitis, treatment of postoperative infectious complications.
