Use: Escitam Akino is used for the treatment of major depressive episodes, panic disorders (with or without agoraphobia), social anxiety disorders (social phobia), generalized anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD). How to take: Escitalopram is taken orally by adults once daily, regardless of food intake. For a major depressive episode, 10 mg is usually prescribed once daily. Depending on the individual patient's reaction, the daily dose may be increased to 20 mg. The antidepressant effect usually manifests after 2-4 weeks. The safety of doses exceeding 20 mg/day has not been established. Contraindications: It is not recommended to combine escitalopram with MAO-A inhibitors due to the risk of serotonin syndrome.
