Use: Prenessa is used to treat arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in patients with stable ischemic heart disease who have a history of myocardial infarction and/or revascularization. How to take: Prenessa tablets should be taken once daily, in the morning, before meals. The dose is selected individually for each patient depending on their condition and blood pressure level. The recommended initial dose for arterial hypertension is 4 mg per day. In patients with chronic heart failure who are taking diuretics, perindopril should be used in a low dose, possibly after reducing the dose of concurrently used potassium-sparing diuretic. Treatment of elderly patients should begin with a dose of 2 mg, which can be increased if necessary to 4 mg, and then to 8 mg after one month, if renal function permits. Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to perindopril, other components of the drug, or any other ACE inhibitor. - Angioedema in history associated with previous ACE inhibitor therapy. - Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema. - Pregnancy and lactation. - Concomitant use of ACE inhibitors (including perindopril) and angiotensin II receptor antagonists (including valsartan) with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus or renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate <60 ml/min/1.73m2).
